Most people are surprised at how easy it is to use a pendulum or divining rod. It's a sensitivity we all have once we learn how to use it. The use of pendulums dates back to the Egyptian culture. It is a tool that crosses many cultures, and has been around for many thousands of years. Dowsing is commonly practiced today for locating underground water and oil. Many holistic health care professionals use pendulums to aid them in analysis and diagnosis.
There are many forms of dowsing with a variety of names such as kinesiology (muscle testing) and witching (locating water). It is also used by numerous acupuncturists, herbalists and homeopaths. Regardless of what you call it or the specific techniques involved, the underlying fundamentals are the same. All matter is made of atoms, each of which has a specific electro-magnetic field, and quantum vibratory frequency pattern. Science will be able to measure these fields far away from the source, once instruments with enough sensitivity are developed. However, the heightened sensitivity of the human nervous system is already at the point where it can detect subtle energetic fields. It just takes a little training and practice.
Two things are required for effective dowsing: sensitivity and selectivity. The pendulum serves as a visual readout of the nervous system’s detection of the subtle field. To aid in selectivity, holding a like vibrational substance (reference or witness) can greatly add to one's ability to detect subtle energy fields. Colour, shape and material of the pendulum all affect the selectivity. Sensitivity can be increased by adding electro-magnetic fields and certain elements that function as a transistor junction, amplifying the signal which makes detection easier for the nervous system. Different elements and types of fields amplify different frequency bands or octaves of vibration. Visible light is electro-magnetic energy that is both an amplifier and adds selectivity to a particular band of frequencies, depending on its wave length or colour. Since people are composed mostly of water, it is the easiest element to detect as the body fluids act as the reference. That’s why a willow branch is all that is needed to make a divining rod for finding water.
Most people prefer pendulums because they are small and can be carried in a pocket or purse. It is also easy to add amplification and selectivity to their design. Pendulums are not only used to locate water and other elements, you can also ask valuable questions concerning what is best for you mentally, emotionally, and physically. The questions should be asked in a yes or no format. For most people, a clockwise rotation means 'yes' and a counter-clockwise rotation means ‘no.' You can find out if you are one of the few for whom clockwise means 'no' by asking your unconscious a question whose answer you already know, like "is my name .” If the pendulum rotates counter-clockwise to an obvious 'yes' question, then you are one of the few people where a clockwise rotation means ’no.’
Pendulums are great for developing deeper contact with your own intuition. The pendulum is held between the thumb and index finger and will rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise. This rotation is a readout of the subtle muscle responses in your fingers caused by the feedback from your nervous system. The use of pendulums can develop your sensitivity to the point that they are no longer needed, to tune into your own systems’ feedback or intuition.

Rainbow Aura Pendulum
What is an aura? Your aura Is the light which encloses your body In a rainbow of colours. It will be either dark or bright depending on the radiance of your consciousness. The vibrating atoms, molecules, cells and organ systems of your body all contribute to the auric vibration, which you radiate and which Is uniquely yours. To find out your (or another's) predominant aura colour or colours, set the cursor on each colour In turn and ask, “Is this my basic aura colour?” Since it is difficult to hold the pendulum over your own chakras, rnerely place your free hand over each chakra In turn while asking the question (changing to the appropriate colour each tirne). Then you can go on to ask deeper, more specific questions about the levels and how they are manifesting. If the energies of one or more centers are negative, find the cause by asking appropriate yes/no questions of the person. Then extract the negative energy by spinning the pendulum counter clockwise over the chakra with your other hand In a glass of water, keeping the Image In your mind of the negative energy flowing out of you (or another) and Into the water. When the pendulum stops spinning, throw the water down the sink or toilet, and then give the chakra a positive charge by spinning the pendulum (still tuned to the colour of the chakra) over it in a clockwise direction until the pendulum stops spinning. It Is best to end the balancing session by passing a positive green pendulum spinning clockwise over the person from head to foot to give them an overall positive charge.
